Hastings resident, Donald W. Davis, 73, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, NE. Services will be Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 3 pm at the Faith Community Tabernacle Church in Hastings, NE with Rev. Edward MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in the Blue Valley Cemetery near Ayr, NE. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from 9 am to 9 pm with the family present from 7 pm to 8 pm at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE and up till service time at the church. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Memorials may be given to the family. Donald was born April 4, 1939 to Clyde and Gertrude Davis in Weeksbury, KY. He grew up in Kentucky and received his education at the Berwin High School. He married Kathryn Louise Warthen on September 25, 2000 in Fairbury, NE. The couple lived in Portland, TN and Beatrice, NE. He was a member and preached at the Faith Community Tabernacle Church in Hastings, NE, and played music in many different Tabernacle Churches and the Lighthouse on the Rock in Topeka, KS. He also played with the Golden Ages Band. He is survived by his wife Kathryn, two sons, Jeff Davis and Danny Davis, three step-son, Lee Stout, John Stout and James Richards, two daughters, Sandie Crum, Susie Davis, three step-daughters, Mary Doty, Laura Suppes, and Joanie Edwards, 25 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, two brothers, Charlie Davis and John Davis, and two sisters, Kitty and Christine. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Lula Davis, two grandsons, Jeffrey Davis and Anthony Crum, one great granddaughter, Bailee Suppes, brother Harold and sister Judy.
