Donna J. Ehresman, 91, of Grand Island, Nebraska, died on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Cedar Creek of High Plains in Lincoln, Nebraska. Funeral services will be at the First Christian Church in Grand Island, NE on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 10 A.M. Burial will be in the Cottonwood Cemetery in Burwell. Visitation will be on Friday from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. Memorials are suggested to the Scholarship Memorial Fund at the First Christian Church. She was born on July 21, 1933, in Holmesville, Nebraska the daughter of Lester F. and Lillian (McPheron) Will. When she was in grade school her family moved to Beatrice, Nebraska where she graduated from Beatrice Senior High School. She was employed by Don H. Shalla, CPA for 9 years.
Mrs. Ehresman was united in marriage to Dwayne A. Ehresman on March 16, 1958, in Beatrice, Nebraska. After which the couple moved to Grand Island in 1959 where she was a stay-at-home wife and mother for 26 years. She worked in the office at Lutheran Hospital in 1959 for 9 months and for Rinder Printing as a bookkeeper for 7 years, retiring in 1993.
She was a long-time member of the First Christian Church serving in many capacities; Administrative Board, President of CWE, long-time CWF Treasurer, Deaconess, Sunday School Teacher, Bible School Teacher and long-time member of Circle #5.
She was a volunteer at the Salvation Army and a long-time blood donor at the Red Cross. She enjoyed reading.
Survivors include: one son, Dr. Scott Ehresman (Melanie) of Holdrege, Nebraska; one daughter, Dr. Christine Keim (James) of Lincoln, Nebraska; five grandchildren: Lindsay Ickes (Adam), Sara Hohensee (Chance), Jeff Ehresman (Lexie), Mason Keim and Ava Keim; and 11 great-grandchildren: Nevyn, Rahlie, Vivian and Maelyn Ickes; Harlow, Hayes, Maddyn and Baylor Hohensee; and Brody, Arabella and Adeline Ehresman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse, Dwayne Ehresman of Grand Island; one brother, Marion Will of Beatrice, Nebraska; four sisters: Darlene Purdom (Mrs. Harold) of Torrance, California, Thelma Pendleton (Mrs. Joe) of Boosier City, Louisiana, Kathy Carpenter (Mrs. Ivel) of Beatrice, Nebraska and Marilyn Workman (Mrs. Jim) of Beatrice, Nebraska.
