Former Harvard resident Donna L. Ross, 83, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at the Golden Living Center in Rochester, MN. Services will be Monday, January 31, 2011, at 1 PM at the Harvard United Church of Christ in Harvard, NE with Dave Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Harvard Cemetery, Harvard, NE. Visitation will be Sunday, January 30, 2010 from 2 PM to 5 PM with the family present at the Alberding-Wilson Funeral Home, Harvard, NE. Memorials may be given to the Harvard United Church of Christ, Harvard, NE. *** Donna was born July 4, 1927, in Esbon, KS to James and Merle (Shook) Baldwin. They moved to Harvard, NE in 1942, she graduated from Harvard High School in 1945. After graduation she worked at the Ammunition Depot in Hastings, in 1964 she was employed as a nurses aide at Aurora Hospital for 12 years until she had to retire for health reasons. She met her husband, Wayne, when he returned to Harvard after the Army Air Force where he was a prisoner of war in Germany for 15 months. They were married on May 23, 1946 in Smith Center, KS, and were married for almost 59 blissful years until his passing on May 6, 2005. Most of their married life was spent farming near Harvard. After retiring from farming they moved to Rochester, MN to be near their daughter and good medical help. Survivors include son Steven(Donna) of Dickinson, TX; daughters Sharon Ellis of Rochester, MN and Sandra(Don) Tewell of Billings, MT; one brother Robert (Marilou) Baldwin of Wheatland, MO; two sisters, Darlene Woodward of Cross Timbers, MO and Norma Alberts of Platte City, MO; 9 grandchildren including Dustin(Shannon) Ellis of Minneapolis, MN; Briana(Clint) Stevens of Rochester; MN, Dee(Doug) Heerman of Conroe, TX; Nanci Ross of Des Moines, IA; Suzann(Craig) Schweitzer of Kenesaw, GA; Kimberly Ross of Bellingham, WA; Nolan, Tandra and Tameena Tewell all of Billings, MT and 13 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, her parents, two brothers; Gene and Ivan and a sister Merle Ann.
