Donna L. Morse, 88, of Grand Island, died Saturday May 18, 2019, at Tabitha Residence-Cove House in Lincoln. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at the Apfel Funeral Home-Grand Island with Pastor Bill Rowland officiating. Burial will be at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, and a luncheon will follow at Beacon of Hope Church. Visitation will be from 4 - 7 p.m. Monday at Apfel Funeral Home. Burial will be at West Lawn Memorial Cemetery and a luncheon will follow at Beacon of Hope Church. Memorials may be given to the Beacon of Hope Church. Donna Lou Morse was born March 8, 1931 in Wayne, Nebraska to John and Eva R. (Bose) Ulrich. She was one of thirteen children, a twin, and the last living sibling of her family. She grew up and received her education in Wayne. She lived in Grand Island for many years and worked at the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant and also worked at New Holland until her retirement in 1991.
Donna was united in marriage to Winston D. “Winnie” Morse on June 23, 1990. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and for the past several years, has been attending the Beacon of Hope Church. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge and United Commercial Travelers. She was on the Senior Bowling League at West Side Lanes. She enjoyed traveling, drinking coffee and visiting with friends, playing cards, gardening and spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include son: Jason (Tammie) Foreman of Lincoln, NE, stepson: Steven (Brenda) Morse of Canby, OR, stepdaughter: Lori Morse of Philadelphia, PA; 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Winston; sisters, Betty Hafner and Delores Jensen and brothers, Arline, Walter, Benny, Howard, John Jr., Clarence, Donald, Bobby, Murlen and Stanley Ulrich; and her beloved dog, Fifi.
