Dora M. Hermann

Former Juniata resident, Dora M. Hermann, 91, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare, Hastings.

Services will be Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 10:30 AM at the Christ Lutheran Church, rural Juniata with Rev. Paul Dunbar officiating. Burial will be in the Concordia Cemetery, rural Juniata. Visitation will be Friday, December 8, 2017 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Apfel Funeral Home, Kenesaw. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.apfelfuneralhome.com. Apfel Funeral Home, Kenesaw is in care of the family.

Memorials may be given to Christ Lutheran School or the Concordia Cemetery.

Dora was born July 31, 1926 to Albert J. and Marie (Reiners) Katzberg in Juniata, NE. She attended rural school District 16 in Adams County and graduated from Hastings High School. She married Robert W. Hermann April 18, 1948 at Christ Lutheran Church, rural Juniata. Robert died April 25, 2012. Dora was a homemaker and housewife.

She was a lifetime member of the Christ Lutheran Church, Ladies Guild and Ladies Alter Guild. Dora enjoyed yardwork, gardening, caring for her pet raccoon named Coonus. She enjoyed her family and making them all laugh.

She is survived by two daughters, Gwen (Frank) Halte of Kenesaw, Patty (Dave) Bruntz of Hastings, one son, Gaylon (Kim) Hermann, of Juniata, grandchildren, Tonya (Robb) Rutt of Kenesaw, Tami (Bill) Tackwell of Hastings, Danny (Trisha) Bruntz of Hastings, Jeff (Ashley) Hermann of Juniata and Walker Hermann of Juniata, great grandchildren, Alex and Ava Rutt, Emily and Ashton Tackwell, Addison Bruntz and Tenley Hermann.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert, two brothers, Walter and Wilbur Katzberg, three sisters, Thelma Augustin, Lenora Stulken and Ruth McCasland.
