Doreen E. Englund

Doreen Emlie Englund, 61, of Doniphan, died Monday, January 21, 2013 at St. Francis. Per her request there will be no services. Apfel Funeral Home is caring for the family. Doreen was born December 1, 1951 in Paterson, New Jersey, the daughter of Marinus & Dorothy (Stemmer) DeJong. She grew up in North Haledon, New Jersey where she received her education. She was united in marriage to Richard Englund, August 14, 1992 in Grand Island. The couple made their home in Doniphan where she was a mother, grandmother and homemaker. She enjoyed her pets, knitting, collecting dolphins and butterflies but her greatest joy came from her family and friends and helping others. Survivors include her husband, Richard , her children:, Kelly Golden, Angel & Dan Bednarz , Sharonna Englund both of Kearney, four grandchildren; Courtney, Damien, Bradyn and Parker, and one great grandson, Damien Jr., and her siblings in New Jersey. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Jeffrey Bay in 2004.
