Dorothy A. French

Dorothy French, 91, of Grand Island passed away peacefully May 21, 2016 in Grand Island. Funeral Services will be Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Gallagher Chapel of Trinity United Methodist Church in Grand Island with Rev. Theresa Mason officiating. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time at the church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to the donors choice. Apfel Funeral Home is serving the family.



Dorothy Alice French was born April 7, 1925 to Edgar and Rose (Limbeck) Schrader at Rokeby, Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Wayne French on April 13, 1946. She was a long time member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was involved in many activities. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.



Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Wayne French; children, Steve (Dee) French; Stan (Kathy) French; and Sid (Penni) French; as well as 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and her special friend, Helen Brandt. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Howard Schrader; sister, Marjorie Bower as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
