Doniphan resident, Dorothy Dot Mae Losee, 83, passed away Monday, January 05, 2015 at the Wedgewood Care Center, in Grand Island, NE.
Services will be 10:30 am, Friday, January 9, 2015 at the United Methodist Church, Doniphan, NE with Rev. Kelly Karges officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Hansen, NE. Visitation will be 4 pm to 7 pm Thursday, January 8, 2015 with family present from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Apfel Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.apfelfuneralhome.com. Apfel Funeral Home, Hastings is in charge of the arrangements.

Dot was born July 29, 1931 to George W. and Grace Ann (Green) Lamphiear in Leon, IA. She attended grade school in Leon, IA and moved to Hastings with her family. She graduated in 1950 from Hastings High School. She married Allen Dale Losee on September 23, 1950 in Hastings, NE, Allen passed away October 28, 2009. They lived in Hastings and Doniphan, NE until moving to the family farm southwest of Doniphan in 1957. They lived there until moving back to Doniphan in 1987.
She worked at Durham Bakery, Hastings Regional Center and Good Samaritan Village all in Hastings, Doniphan School and she also helped farm.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Doniphan, NE, Hall County Extension Club, and Card Club and enjoyed helping with the church salad suppers.
She enjoyed life as a wife, mother and grandmother. All the grandkids remember her saying Anything your little heart desires. Dot collected angels and was always delighted when a new one arrived at the door. She was always ready to travel, she spent many enjoyable times with family and friends.
She is survived by three daughters, Vicki Tolson and husband Frank, Barbara Antle and fiance Dwayne Weber all of Doniphan, and Gayle Tolson of Minden one son Rodney Losee and wife Deb of Doniphan, 16 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, one sister, Fran Kost of Burlington, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Allen, three brothers Elmer, Howard and Glen Lamphiear, two sisters, one in infancy and Jane Northrup and one great granddaughter Kaylynn.
