Dorothy Maxine Bantz

Dorothy Maxine Bantz, 92 of Grand Island, died Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Lebensraum Assisted Living in Grand Island, Nebraska.



Graveside Services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Blue Valley Cemetery in Ayr, Nebraska with the Reverend Jim Donley officiating. Visitation will be from 1:30 P.M. until service time at the Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Lebensraum Assisted Living in Grand Island or the New York Avenue Congregational Church in Hastings.



Dorothy was born on September 25, 1923 in Hastings, Nebraska to Arvid and Mabel (Johnson) Johnson. She grew up in Hastings. She was united in marriage to Eugene Bantz on September 2, 1975 in Hastings, Nebraska. She was a seamstress for many years. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, and puzzles. She was a member of New York Avenue Congregational Church in Hastings.



Survivors include her son, Terry Braasch of Grand Island; daughter, Sherrie Larson (Mike) of Aurora, CO; step-daughters, Jan May of Denver, CO, Jackie Griffen of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Jo Grossoehme of Arizona; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; nieces, Margie Garrison of Grand Island and Marsha Jensen of Wood River.



Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene; son, Mitchell Braasch; and sister, Rosana Zubrod.
