Duane Clinton Brown

November 17, 1962 — May 22, 2017

Duane C. Brown, 54, of Grand Island, lost his battle with cancer on May 22, 2017, at home. Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 27, 2017, at First Faith United Methodist Church, Grand Island with Pastor Kelly Karges officiating. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Apfel Funeral Home is caring for the family..



Duane Clinton Brown was born November17, 1962, in Ogallala, NE, the son of Jerry and Faye (Starkey) Brown. Duane was extremely fond of his grandkids. He always loved to see them. He was also a lover of the great outdoors. His favorite thing to do was sit next to the water with a fishing pole, and a drink in his hand with friends nearby. He had a passion for racing and driving in general, as he worked for Sunrise Express for 21 years. Duane was a loving father, grandpa, son, brother, and friend.



Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters: Danielle (Brian) Grotzky of Lincoln, Shaye Walker of Phillips; three grandchildren: Willow, Sawyer, and Brecken; mother: Faye Brown of Grand Island; two sisters: Vicky (Steve) Hoch of Gladstone, OR, and Stacy Brown of Hastings; five nieces; and best friend: Bruce Heeg.



He was preceded in death by his father: Jerry Brown on May 12, 2017.
