Hastings resident, Duane Reiners, 72, of 1445 W. Assumption Rd, died December 28, 2006 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital. Services will be, Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007, at 11 AM at the First St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Hastings, NE, with the Rev. Adam White officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings; NE. Visitation will be, Tuesday, January 2, 2007 from 8 AM to 9 PM with the family present from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, and one hour prior to service time at the church. Mr. Reiners was born December 11, 1934 to Jacob and Rosina (Frese) Reiners at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings. He received his elementary education at District 14 and Christ Lutheran .He graduated Hastings High School in 1952. On February 4th, 1956 he married LaDonna Fitzke and later divorced. He married Linda (Carris) Menke December 09, 1996. He farmed near Hastings until retiring. He was a member of First St. Pauls Church, Hastings Saddle Club, Harness Hustlers Driving Club and Eagles club. Survivors are his wife Linda; three sons Greg of Doniphan, David of Hastings, and Joel of Juniata; one daughter Robin Reiners Carpenter of Ketchum Idaho; two stepsons Peter Menke of Humble Texas, and William Menke of Bucyrus Kansas; and six grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers. Memorials may be given to the First St. Pauls Lutheran Church or the Saddle Up Club Therapeutic riding.
