At our Jackson-Wilson Funeral Home location. Hastings resident, Edith E. Frickey, 83, passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at the Homestead in Hastings, NE. Services will be Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 10:30 AM at the Christ Lutheran Church, near Juniata, NE with Pastor Paul Duffy officiating. Burial will be in the Concordia Cemetery, near Juniata, NE. Visitation will be Friday, November 5, 2010 from 12 noon to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, in Hastings, NE and one hour prior to service Saturday at the church. Arrangements are by the Jackson-Wilson Funeral Home, Kenesaw, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Memorials may be given to the Christ Lutheran Church, near Juniata, NE. *** Edith was born December 15, 1926 to August Herman and Iva Ideal (Currier) Bockerman in Prosser, NE. She graduated from the Juniata High School in 1944. She was baptized and confirmed, June of 1947 at the Christ Lutheran Church near Juniata, NE. She worked for Hoff Cleaners in Hastings, NE before she married. She married Walter Frickey on February 1, 1947 in Smith Center, Kansas, Walter passed away on June 2, 1997. Edith worked for the Lincoln Telephone Company as an operator in Hastings, NE and Missouri. Edith and Walter farmed in the Prosser area and then they moved from Kenesaw, NE to Hastings, NE in 1990. They also operated a successful auctioneering business for several years. She recently moved from the Regency Retirement Home to the Homestead, both in Hastings, NE. She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, near Juniata, NE. She faced her battle with cancer with dignity and courage and will be missed deeply by many nieces and nephews. She is survived by two sisters, Bonnie McLoed and husband Earl of Juniata, NE, and Betty Robinson and husband Tom of Springfield, MO, and two brothers, Bernard Bockerman of Prosser, NE and Raymond Bockerman and wife Betty of Hastings, NE and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Walter, one sister, Dorothy Hinrikus and four brothers, Carl, Lorain, Mervin and William.
