Edna N. Saurer

Hastings resident, Edna N. Saurer, 82, of 1090 S. St. Joseph, died Sunday, March 19, 2006, at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings. Services will be Friday March 24, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Hastings with Rev. Dan Heuer officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings, NE. There will be no visitation. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Mrs. Saurer was born, Dec. 30. 1923, to Arthur and Viola (Kirckof) Sydow in Henning, Minnesota. She went to a country school by Henning through the 8th grade and then attended Henning High School till the 11th grade. She lived in Harvard during her early years, then moved to Red Cloud, then moved to Hastings. She married Andrew Saurer on July 31, 1943, he preceded her in death on June 30, 1992 . She was a cook for 40 years at Dilly's LampPost and LoRayne's Restaurant. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Hastings. The Eagles and the VFW Auxillary. She is survived by 2 daughter's Andrea Keasling of Harvard, NE and Charlene Petr of Hastings, NE. One son, Jerald Saurer of Friend, NE. 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and 3 Step Great Grand children. 2 Sisters: Sylvia Hill of Ogallala, NE and LoRayne Hoffart of Omaha, NE She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 3 Brothers, and 2 sisters. Memorials may be given to the family.
