Eileen E. Willy

Hastings resident, Eileen Elizabeth Willy, 76, passed away September 30, 2015 at Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Society.

Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 10 am at St. Michaels Catholic Church, Hastings with Father Michael Houlihan, officiating. Rosary will be before the church service at 9:30 am at St. Michaels Catholic Church with Father Michael Catholic Church with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. There will be no visitation; Eileens wishes were to be cremated. Burial will be at a later date at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.apfelfuneralhome.com. Apfel Funeral Home, Hastings is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorials may be given to the family to be established at a later date.

Eileen was born April 27, 1939 to Cornelius G. and Christine H. (Schutte) Descher in Hastings, NE. She graduated from St. Cecilias High School in 1957. She married Jan Willy on November 14, 1959 at St. Cecilias Catholic Church.

During Eileens early years she worked as a shoe clerk at Hoff & Johns Shoes then later at the Childrens Protective Shelter and then she was a paraprofessional with the school system. Her last job was working with at risk students at the Learning Center, retiring in 2005.

She enjoyed traveling with her husband Jan to visit the children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Jan of Hastings, two sons Michael (Carole) Willy of Hickory Corner, MI, and Anthony Willy of Tempe, AZ, one daughter, Jody (Michael) Starkey of North Pole, Alaska, four grandchildren, Amber Willy, Olivia Willy, Christopher Starkey and Matthew Willy, and one sister, Maxine Monie of Lakewood, CO.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
