Eldora R. Mattley

Hastings resident, Eldora R. Mattley, 88, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Society, Hastings-Village. Graveside service will be Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 2 PM at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Hastings, NE with the Rev. Art Schakat officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 28, 2010 from 9 AM to 9 PM and Thursday, April 29, 2010 from 9 AM to 12 noon at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Hastings, Ne. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Eldora was born September 26, 1921 to Albert and Emma (Granthum) Campain in Center, NE. She graduated from the Franklin High School in Franklin, NE. She married Ernest Gene E. Mattley, 1939; he passed away May 23, 1990. She has been a resident of Hastings, NE since 1940. She worked for the Hastings Regional Center from 1941 to 1962. She is the former owner of the X-L Motel in Hastings, NE. She was a member of the YWCA and the YMCA both in Hastings, NE. She is survived by one son, Danny Gene Mattley and wife Guntamane Ead, and one grandson, Benjamin Wade Mattley and wife Merisa Ann (Merrill) all of Hastings, NE. Great Grandson, Bryce Aden Mattley and great granddaughter, Aleece Kathryn Mattley. 2 sisters, Dorothy Lewis, of Red Cloud, NE and Jackie Douglas, of Merna, NE. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Gene, one son Richard, and 15 brothers and sisters. Memorials may be given to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
