Elizabeth I. Betty Doyle, age 90, a former Harvard resident, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at the Wedgewood Care Center in Grand Island.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 5, 2014 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Harvard with Father Dennis Hunt as celebrant. Burial will be in the First Evangelical Cemetery northwest of Harvard.
Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 4th at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Harvard. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the Rosary on Sunday at the church.
Memorials may be given to the church of the Fraternal Order of Eagles # 592 in Hastings in Bettys memory. Online condolences may be sent at www.apfelfuneralhome.com.
Betty was born December 12, 1923 at Haveloch, Nebraska, the daughter of Richard and Minnie (Kahfahl) Fahrenholz. She spent her early childhood growing up in Norfolk, Nebraska. Betty married Charles Doyle on February 16, 1944. The couple moved to Harvard in 1950 and Betty continue to reside there until 1992. She had been a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church and the VFW Auxiliary in Harvard and the Fraternal Order of Eagles # 592 in Hastings.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, in 1985; her parents, Richard and Minnie Fahrenholz; three brothers, Vernon Dale, Virgil and Carroll Fahrenholz; a brother in law, Wally Siefken and a sister in law, Jean Fahrenholz.
She is survived by her six children, Carol (Larry) Schulz of Juniata, NE, Patricia (Dale) Myers of Blue Hill, NE, Charles Doyle, Jr of Hastings, NE, Victoria George of Hastings, NE, Tamara Doyle of Phoenix, AZ and Laurie (Eugene) Consbruck of Giltner, NE; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
