Elizabeth L. Anderson

Hastings resident, Elizabeth L. Anderson, 90, passed away Monday, February 11, 2013 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, NE. Services will be Friday, February 15, 2013 at 10:30 am at the Grace United Methodist Church, Hastings, NE with Rev. Dr. Lee Wigert officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, NE. Visitation will be Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 2 pm to 7 pm at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Memorials may be given to the Grace United Methodist Church in Hastings, NE. Elizabeth was born February 18, 1922 to Rev. August and Ida (Sohl) Langenberg in Crofton, NE. She grew up in various towns around NE, because her father was a Methodist Minister. Graduate from Scotia High School and went to the Kearney Teachers College and graduated from the University of Missouri and became a teacher. She married William R. Anderson on February 10, 1949 in Hastings, NE. After which the couple lived in numerous towns in NE, IA, SD, and primarily Missouri where she taught school. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Missouri Retired and the Teachers Association. She enjoyed reading, singing in the church choir and gardening. She is survived by one sister, Adeline Booker of Hastings, NE, numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William and one sister Rachel Lower.
