Ervin Neal Burmood

Ervin Burmood, 63, of Grand Island passed away December 15, 2016 at Park Place. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island with Derek Apfel, CFC officiating. Interment will be in the Wood River Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 AM until service time on Wednesday. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

Ervin Neal Burmood was born November 17, 1953 to Neal and Maude (Hunter) Burmood at Grand Island. He grew up in Wood River and graduated from Wood River High School. Ervin entered Kearney State College and the ROTC program in 1973. He lived in Kearney, Hastings and Grand Island where he was employed by New Holland; Island Supply and Ace Machine Shop and Sales in Grand Island. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wood River. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Those left to cherish his memory are his brother, Dale Burmood; sisters, Donna (Howard) Lefler and Elaine (Robert) Smart; nieces and nephews, Marcia (Casey) Foster and their son Evan; Michael (Lisa) Lefler and their children Caden and Cassidy; Andrew Smart and Melissa Smart; an aunt as well as numerous cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Neal and Maude Burmood.
