Frances Marie Brenneman

Harvard resident, Frances Marie Brenneman, 97, passed away, Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the Harvard Rest Haven, Harvard.

Services will be Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 10 AM at the Harvard Methodist Church, Harvard with Pastor Travis King officiating. Burial will be in the Harvard Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, July 1, 2016 from 5 pm to 8 pm with the family present from 7 pm to 8 pm at the First United Methodist Church, Harvard. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.apfelfuneralhome.com. Apfel Funeral Home, Harvard is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorials may be given to the Harvard Methodist Church or to the family.

Frances was born June 6, 1919 to Ira and Elta (Galloway) Fishback on a farm southwest of Harvard. She graduated from the Harvard High School in 1937 and attended Hastings College. Frances taught school from 1936 to 1940 in Clay County schools. She married John Brenneman on December 27, 1940 in Stockton, KS, John passed away in June of 1995. She was a piano teacher and accompanist for school and for community individuals and groups and played for church from age 14 to 92.

She was a member of the Harvard Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the Eastern Star Acacia Chapter #39.

She is survived by one daughter, Barb (Ted) Shriver of Hastings, two sons, Steve (Tania) Brenneman of Hastings and Tom (Diane) Brenneman of Harvard, four grandchildren, Millie (Kenny) Padgett, Jeff (Katie) Brenneman, Eric (Lisa) Brenneman and Melissa (Joe) Waters, six great grandchildren, eleven step grandchildren and sixteen step great grandchildren, one sister, Marge Hohnstein of Aurora and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, one grandson, Nick Minshall and an infant brother.
