Fredrick "Fred" A Kreider

Fredrick “Fred” A. Kreider, 75, of Grand Island died Saturday, March 2, 2019, at CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island.

Memorial services will be at 2 PM on Saturday March 9, 2019 at Apfel Funeral Home – Grand Island.

Fredrick Allen Kreider was born August 28, 1943, in Doniphan to Linus and Estella Mae (Smith) Kreider. He grew up and received his education in Doniphan, NE.

He married Barbara A. Peterson on March 26, 1967 at Grand Island. The couple made their home in Grand Island.

Following high school, Mr. Kreider worked for American Optical for 5 years, Barnett & Rammel Optical for 3 years, Allen’s Self-Service as a shipping clerk for 5 years, and then Chief Industries until his retirement in 2009.

He enjoyed watching and reading “Westerns” and rummage sales. He also loved animals and collecting vinyl records.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Kreider of Grand Island; daughter, Teddy Lynn Castillo of Independence, MO; son, Benjamin Lee Kreider of Lincoln, Andrew Zane Kreider of Grand Island, Cory Patrick Kreider of Grand Island; sister-in-law, Sue Kreider of Grand Island; special cousins-in-law, Mike Bosselman, Steven Kraft; numerous nieces and nephews.

Those who preceded him in death are his parents; five sisters, Marie, Esther, Ruth, Eva Rose, Doris; brothers, Eugene and Robert “Bob”; infant grandson, Gavin Zane Kreider
