Gale 'Jean' Ochsner

Gale Jean Ochsner 71, of Alda, died Friday, November 30, 2012 at St. Francis Medical Center. Services will be at 2 pm on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Grand Island with the Rev. Bill Pavuk officiating. Burial will be made in the Westlawn Cemetery. Visitation hours will be from 4 to 7 pm on Monday, December 3, 2012. Memorials are suggested to the family. Apfel Funeral Home is caring for the family. Gale Jean Ochsner was born, February 23, 1941 at Grand Island, Nebraska, the daughter of Dale and Lora (McKenzie) Findley. She grew up in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 1959. After high school she worked at Dreisbachs. Jean was united in marriage to Ronald D. Ochsner on February 25, 1972 in Denver, Colorado. The couple made their home in Aurora, Colorado until moving back to Alda in June of 1981. Throughout her life, Jean was a homemaker and also raised her family. Jean enjoyed cooking, crocheting, needlepoint, knitting, fishing, camping, nature, the outdoors, and she was an avid Husker football fan. Jean especially loved the time she had with her children, grandchildren, and all of her family. Survivors of the immediate family include her husband, Ronald D. Ochsner of Alda, three sons; Rich Ross of Alda, Ronnie & Chris Ochsner of North Platte, and Todd & Marci Ochsner of Kearney, two daughters; Terry Ochsner Williamson of Aurora, Colorado and Misty Ochsner Kohl of Kearney, her mother Lora Findley of Grand Island, twelve grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two brothers; Jim & Sharon Findley of Alda, and David and Janne Findley of Grand Island, one sister Carol & Jerry Fanta of Dannebrog. Jean was preceded in death by her father; Dale Findley, two sons; Bobby Ross and Roger Ross and a son-in-law; Bill Williamson.
