Hastings resident, Genevie F. Hess, 101, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2010 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, NE. Services will be Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 11 AM at the First United Methodist Church, Hastings, NE with the Rev. Alan Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Juniata Cemetery, Juniata, NE. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 16, 2010 from 12 noon to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Genevie was born December 15, 1908 to Ernest and Elvie (Cassidy) Pearson in Purdin, MO. She married, Rev. Earl O. Hess and followed him as a pastor, they lived in Knox City, MO, Granger, MO, Chambers, NE, Macon, NE, Newman Grove, NE, Guide Rock, NE and then settling in Hastings, NE. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hastings, NE and the First United Methodist Womans Club. She is survived by sons Donnie Hessand wife Shirley of Juniata, NE and Bobby Hess and wife Linda of Kenesaw, NE, 6 grandchildren, Mike Hess of Kenesaw, NE, Dannie Hess and Colleene Hampton, of Hastings, NE David Hess of Juniata, NE, Susie Walker and husband Scott of Juniata, NE, Troy Hess and wife Leesa of Juniata, NE and Shane Hess and wife Brenda, of Chappell, NE. 14 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 21, 1975 and 2 sisters, Marilee and Imolene. Memorials may be given to the family.
