George D. White

Former Hastings resident, George Dempsey White, 54, passed away Sunday, June 2nd, 2013 at his Red Cloud home, where he lived with Lorinda Starnes. Memorial services will be Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 1 pm at the Congregational Bible Church of Red Cloud in Red Cloud, NE and Sunday, June 9, 2013 at 3 pm at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings, NE with Rev Marshall Faulkenberry officiating. George was born September 20, 1958 at Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings, NE to Gene and Sadie White. He attended high school at Hastings Senior High and enlisted in the army as a paramedic. He grew up working at K&K Market, a local produce market started by his grandfather. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and cooking. He enjoyed spending his time painting, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his grandson, Gabreal Bernard White. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and his loving nature. He is preceded in death by his son, Jordan Fisk, his mother and father, Sadie and Gene White, as well as his nephew, Patrick Long Jr. He is survived by his two sons, George White Jr. and Justin White, a daughter, Shannon Fisk, four brothers, Rob Long, Patrick Long Sr., Mike Long, Les White, and, one sister, Sharon Long.
