Hastings resident, Gerald F. Winkelbauer, 93, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2010 at the Blue Hill Care Center, Blue Hill, NE. Rosary will be Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 7 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings, NE with Father Joseph Walsh officiating. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 10 AM at St. Cecilias Catholic Church, Hastings, NE with Father Joseph Walsh officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, NE. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 7, 2010 from 9 AM to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Gerald was born October 5, 1916 to Joseph and Marie (Kenny) Winkelbauer in Randolph, NE. He graduated from the Sholes High School in Sholes, NE. He had lived in the Hastings area since 1942 and worked 25 years for the Hastings City Parks and Recreation and retired from there. He was a member of St. Cecilias Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Civilian Conservation Corps Camps. He is survived by 2 daughters, Connie Hartzell-Peper of Hastings, NE and Cheri K. Scranton of Windsor, CO. 6 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers, Gene, Donald, and Richard. Memorials may be given to Mary Lanning Memorial Hospice, Hastings, NE.
