Gerald L. Skeen

Gerald Leon Skeen, 82, of Hastings, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, December 8th, 2018 in Hastings.



Per his wishes, Gerald was cremated and a memorial service will be at a later date. Apfel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.



Gerald was born October 7, 1936, the son of Louis and Evelyn (Stairs) Skeen, on the family farm near Shelton. He was united in marriage to Helen Filkin of Wood River, where they continued to live and farm during his lifetime.



He is survived by a sister, Lavonne (Kay) Chrisman of Holton, KS; a brother and sister-in-law, Jerry & Sharon (Crist) Skeen of Wood River; sister-in-law, Peggy (Porter) Hinze of Grand Island; several nieces and nephews.



Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, wife Helen, brothers and sister-in-law, Roland, Norman, Byron & Ruth (Martin) Skeen, and brother-in-law LeRoy (Jack) Chrisman.
