Geraldine 'Jerry' Petersen

Hastings resident, Geraldine Jerry Petersen, 79 passed away Monday, March 26, 2012 at her home. Services will be Friday, March 30, 2012 at 10 am at St. Pauls Lutheran Church west of Glenvil, NE with Pastor Renee Johnson officiating. Burial will be at the St. Pauls Lutheran Churchyard Cemetery, near Glenvil, NE. Book signing will be Thursday, March 29, 2012 from 9 AM to 9 PM with the family present from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home & Cremation, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Memorials may be given to St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Glenvil, NE or the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hastings, NE. Jerry was born on February 16, 1933 in Adams County to R.K. and Sophia (Stamer) Hinrichs. Jerry graduated from Hastings High School in 1950. She married D.H. Pete Petersen on January 20, 1952. She was the owner of Clip-N-Yip. She was a lifelong member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church west of Glenvil, NE. She was a member of the B.P.O.E Does, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Eagles Auxiliary. Jerry enjoyed her grandchildren and their activities, flower gardening, Nebraska football, bowling and golfing with her family. She is survived by her husband Pete, her daughter, Tami Berndt and companion Jeff ODonnell, sons, Jon and wife Pam and Jim and wife Dawn all of Hastings, NE, six grandchildren, Melissa Thompson and husband Adam , Greg and Alex Berndt and Jamie, Jessey and Trev Petersen; speical friend Jordyn Melander, three step-grandchildren, Amy Houston and husband Richard Dobransky, Jason Houston and wife Misty, and Josh Houston, two sisters, Nellie (Gail) Wright and Loraine (Robert) Quirk and sister in law Donna (Paul) Hinrichs all of Hastings, NE and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Edward (Zelma) and Paul Hinrichs and three sisters, Alice (Tex) Gordon, Hilda (Richard) Burke and Irma (Charles) Hunt.
