Geraldine (Gerry) Mae Plebuch , 85, of Hastings, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2009, at the Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Society, Hastings - Village. A memorial service at the First Christian Church will be held Tuesday, June 23, at 11:00 a.m with the the Rev. Dr. Judith Allen and Pastor Jim Barnett officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery. Visitation will take place Monday from 12 noon to 9 PM with the family present from 6:007:00 p.m. at Brand-Wilson Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Memorials may be given in memory of Gerry to the Alzheimers Association or the First Christian Church of Hastings. * * * Gerry was born in Beatrice, NE, on July 26, 1923. She was joined in marriage to Richard L. Plebuch on September 4, 1942. Gerry was a retired US Postal worker and enjoyed her time volunteering as a Pink Lady at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the First Christian Church, the Ladies Auxiliary to the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, and the D.O.E.s. Gerry was preceded in death by husband, Richard; parents, Dale and Louise Terry; brother, Dale Jr.; an infant daughter; and an infant grandchild. She is survived by three daughters and their spouses, Linda and Jim Barnett of Jefferson, IA, Cathy and the late Jerry Morgan of Hastings, and Debbie and Duane Schneider of Omaha; grandchildren, Carrie and Karl McDade, Kelly Morgan, Dan and Angela Schneider, Dave and Kendra Schneider, and Jessica and Brian Moseley; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patty Queen of Omaha and Joan Sinner of Nebraska City; and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed greatly by family and friends.
