Gladyce E. Kroll

Hastings resident, Gladyce E. Kroll, 96 passed away, Monday, September 8, 2014 at Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Society, Hastings.



Services will be Friday, September 12, 2014 at 2 pm at the Apfel Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Hastings, NE. Visitation will be Thursday, September 11, 2014 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Apfel Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings. Afel Funeral Home, Hastings is in charge of the arrangements. Gladyce was born July 16, 1918 to John Albert and Anastasia (Kroll) Monthey in Kenesaw, NE. She attended schools in Hayland and Prosser and was the valedictorian of her class.



She married William Bill Kroll on July 17, 1939, William passed away in May 11, 1978. Together they had one son Billy; he passed away in 1949.



Bill and Gladyce farmed in the Prosser area until 1970, then moving to Hastings. She worked at the snack bar at Mary Lanning Hospital until 1991. She sold her home and moved to Good Samaritan Village, due to poor health she entered Perkins Pavilion where she spent the rest of her life.



She was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Hastings.



She is survived by her nephews and nieces.



She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill her son Billy, and siblings, Fred Monthey, Leo Monthey, Albert Monthey, Minnie Stewart, Ella Miller, Mabel Blue, Viola Rickert, Jessie Henrikus and Lena Monthey.
