Glen E. Hartford

Glenvil resident, Glen E. Hartford, 75 died Friday, September 22, 2006, at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital. Services will be Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at 11 AM at the Brand-Wilson Chapel, Hastings, NE with the Rev. Roy Peister officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Hastings, NE with military rites by the Glenvil American Legion. Visitation will be Monday, September 25, 2006, from 9 AM to 9 PM with the family present from 7 PM to 8:30 PM and up till services time on Tuesday, September 26, 2006. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Mr. Hartford was born October 16, 1930 to Frank H. and Bessie M. (Harger) Hartford in David City, NE. He married Orva Lorence, October 24, 1954 in Esbon, Kansas. He served in the Army during the Korean War Conflict from 1951 to 1953. He then worked for Pepsi Cola Bottling Co for 36 years, the Hastings Industries for 9 years, retiring in 1993. He has lived in Glenvil since 1966 moving there from Hastings. He was a member of the American Legion Post #26 in Glenvil, NE for over 40 years; he was a former member of the Glenvil Volunteer Fire Dept, and a former member of the Glenvil Town Board. He is survived by, wife Orva, of Glenvil, 4 sons, Bruce and wife Michelle, Douglas and wife Lisbeth, Bradley, and Kevin all of Hastings, NE. 2 grandsons, Shane and Christopher, 2 sisters, Elsie Conover of Central Point, Oregon and Ruby Wilbur of Hastings, NE and 3 brothers, Everett of Santa Barbara, CA, Lloyd of Coffee Springs, Alabama and Carl of Arizona. He was preceded in death by, 1 Brother Harlan and 1 grandson, Dustin Hartford. Memorials may be given to the Glenvil Volunteer Fire Dept or the Glenvil American Legion.
