Hastings resident, Glenn E. Harlow, 87, died Sunday, May 31, 2009 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, NE. Services will be Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 10:30 AM at the First United Methodist Church, Hastings, NE with the Rev. Alan Davis officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 PM at the Greenwood Cemetery in York, NE with military rites. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 3, 2009 from 9 AM to 9 PM with the family present from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Glenn was born June 20, 1921 to P.J. and Flora Belle (Carlisle) Harlow in Bradshaw, NE. He graduated from the Bradshaw High School and severed in the Army during WWII in France from October 16, 1942 to March 6, 1946; he was a staff sergeant and received the Purple Heart. He married Alice Summers on January 2, 1943. He worked as a salesman for Johnson Cashway and later retired from Jacobis Carpet both in Hastings, NE. He was a member of the D.A.V. Club, VFW Club and the American Legion. He is survived by his wife Alice of Hastings, NE, 1 daughter, Cindy Seidl and husband Tom of Lincoln, NE. 4 Grandchildren, Alison Lahners and husband Jeremy, Eric Seidl, Aaron Seidl and wife Hillary, and Michael Seidl, 2 Great Grandchildren, Elisabeth and Alex Lahners. 1 brother Dean Harlow and wife Laura of Hastings, NE He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Dewey and Russell Harlow. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church or the MLMH Caring Hands, both in Hastings, NE.
