Gloria J. Lawrence

Gloria Lawrence, of Grand Island, NE died on March 21, 2025 in Grand Island.

Services for Gloria will be at 2 PM Friday, March 28, 2025 at Apfel Funeral Home with the Rev. Bev Hieb officiating. Burial will follow in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 PM until the start of the services on Friday.

Gloria was born on September 6, 1954 in Grand Island, NE to Donald and Margaret (Smith) Lawrence. She grew up in Grand Island. Attending Grand Island Senior High, Kearney State College and Kansas State College.

She was a member of the Red Cross for Wayne State College. She enjoyed her position as professor of Psychology at Wayne State College and the company of her three dogs: Eden Shia and Buttercup.

She is survived by her sister, Joyce Schenck of Grand Island, NE; nephews, Don and Ben Schenck of Grand Island; great nieces, Dakota Schenck of Grand Island, Jessica Schenck of Shelton and Jeanna Schenck of Broken Bow.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law, and best friend, Judith “Judy” Kramer.
