Grace F. Stromer

November 24, 1915 — April 7, 2010

Former Hastings resident, Grace F. Stromer, age 94, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at The Johnson Center, Christian Living Communities, in Centennial, Colorado, after having resided there for a period of one year. Services will be at Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 10 AM at the First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, in Hastings, NE with Rev. Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Churchyard Cemetery, west of Glenvil, NE. Visitation is 9 am to 9 pm with the family present 6-8 pm Friday, April 16, 2010, at the Brand Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE and one hour prior to service time at the church. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com Grace was born November 24, 1915, to Henry and Etta ( Janssen) Johnson, in Ayr, NE. On June 12, 1937, she married Harold D. Stromer, he passed away March 30, 1984. She was a long-time Adams County/Hastings resident. She was a homemaker, faithful member of First St. Paul's, and caring quilt maker for the Lutheran World Relief for many years. She is survived by children and spouses: Harold and Kathryn Stromer, of Sun City West, AZ, Judy and Marvin Shriver, of Littleton, CO, Elden and Nancy Stromer, of Colorado Springs, CO, sister Wilma Kresbach, of Lawrence, NE, brother Dale Johnson, of San Jose, CA and 7 grandchildren, Angela Blunt, of Littleton, CO, Mark Stromer, of Omaha, NE, Tim Stromer, of Goodthunder, MN, Larry Stromer Jr, of Palmer Lake, CO, Todd Shriver, of Littleton, CO, Brian Stromer, of Loveland, CO, and Cindy Caulfield, of Colorado Springs, CO, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandchild. She was preceded in death by husband Harold D. Stromer Sr., daughter Mary Alice at birth, two sons, Larry and Lloyd, and two granddaughters, Susan Stromer and Tammy Shriver. Memorials may be given to First St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hastings.
