Grace I. Getz

Hastings resident, Grace I. Getz, 101, passed away Friday, June 7, 2013 at the Golden Living Center Grand Island Lakeview, Grand Island, NE. Services will be Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 2:30 pm at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Tony Dawson officiating. Visitation will be Monday, June 10, 2013 from 12 noon to 8 pm with the family present from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings, NE. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Grace was born February 3, 1912 to Luther and Carrly (Sexton) Bowman in Conway, KS. She grew up in Carlton, NE and attended Carlton High School. She married Elmer W. Getz on June 5, 1930 in Hebron, NE, Elmer passed away February 16, 1988. The couple lived in Davenport, NE before moving to Hastings, NE. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hastings, NE. She is survived by her son Ray Getz and wife Deloris of Hastings, NE, three great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Elmer, one grandson Kevin Perry and three brothers.
