Harvard Connie Marie Owens Resident

Harvard resident, Connie Marie Owens, 63, passed away Monday, November 9, 2015 at her home.

There will be no services held at this time. Apfel Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Connie was born January 26, 1952 to Martin and Lucille (Siming) Waters in Hastings, NE.She was the youngest of the first set of triplets born at Mary Lanning. She graduated from the Harvard High School in 1970. After graduation she worked as a telephone operator at Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph in Hastings. She married Larry Owens in Hastings in December 12, 1972. Larry passed away February 28, 2008. They made their home in Harvard, NE. Connie spent many years taking care of animals. She had many horses, some of which she broke herself. Connie worked at Hastings Pork for 16 years raising hogs.

She is survived by, her mother Lucille Waters of Harvard, son, Clint of Lisco, NE, daughter, Kelly of Frederickburg, West VA, brothers, Melvin Waters of Melborne, FL, Dennis Waters of Stevensville, Montana, one sister, Kathleen Schifferens of Lisco, NE, 7 grandchildren, special friend, John Sallee and her chihuahua, Chase.

Graveside service are planned for a later date. A Celebration of life is planned for Friday, November 13, 2015 at the Harvard Community Center, starting at 5 pm. Friends and family are invited to attend. Please dress casually.
