Helen Graham

Helen Kathryn Graham, 88, of Juniata, NE passed away December 28, 2021, at her home. Services will be held March 21, 2022, at Juniata Community Church with Reverend Tom Murray officiating. Inurnment will be in Juniata Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to care of the family for a memorial cemetery bench. Apfel Funeral Home of Hastings is serving the family.

Helen was born on June 14, 1933, in Cowels, NE to Henry and Gretta (Voorhees) Beitler. She grew up in Cowles and received her education at Cowles High School in 1950. She was united in marriage to Pete Graham on August 24, 1952, in Cowles. After which the couple lived in Lebanon, KS where she was a housewife. Helen and Pete shared 69 years together. In 1992, they relocated to their farm North of Juniata.

She was a member of the Juniata Community Church and the Highland Extension Club. She participated in the open class at the Adams County Fair for many years, grew vegetables and had flower gardens at her home. She enjoyed baking for the family, watching Husker Football, Volleyball and Baseball on TV, as well as the Olympics.

Helen is survived by her husband, Pete; sons, Rick Graham of Ashland, OR, and Tim (Terri) Graham of Hastings, NE; daughters, Cindy (Rodney) Schutte and Patty Bates both of Juniata, NE; 8 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Marlyn Bates; granddaughter, Kathryn Ann Schutte; brothers, Harry Beitler, David Beitler, Evan Beitler and Richard Beitler; and sister Ruth Reichstein.
