Hastings resident, Howard LeRoy Morris, 92 passed away Friday, October 28, 2011 at Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Society, Hastings-Village. Graveside service will be Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 10:30 AM at Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, NE with Rev. Tom Murray officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 2, 2011 from 9 AM to 10 AM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com Howard was born September 24, 1919 to Jesse and Emma (Meyers) Morris in Franklin, NE. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1939. He served in the United States Army Air Corp during WWII. He married Elouise Brown on January 23, 1954, she passed away in 1989. He worked at Metz Bakery as a bun maker for 33 years. He had lived in Hastings most of his life coming from Franklin County. He is survived by one son, Doug of Hastings, NE and one daughter, Adair McClure of Glenvil, NE, one brother, Gerald Robert Morris and one sister Shirley Chrisman both of Hastings, NE, five grandchildren, Melinda OBrien, Michell Cardona, Mathew McClure, Clinton Morris, and April Morris, and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Elouise, one daughter, Denise, and three sisters, Dorothy Young, Velma Emerson and Sandra Pelowski. Memorials may be given to the family.
