Kenesaw resident, Iola Jeanette Saddler, 94, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at the Premier Estates, Kenesaw.
Services will be at 10:30 am, Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the Kenesaw United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Lee Wigert officiating. Burial will be in the Kenesaw Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, August 14, 2015 from 4 pm to 7 pm with family present from 6 pm to 7 pm at the Apfel Funeral Home, Kenesaw. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.apfelfuneralhome.com. Apfel Funeral Home, Kenesaw is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be given to the family.
Iola was born August 1, 1921 to Willard and Florence Agnes (Ramsey) Mills in Kenesaw, NE. She graduated from the Kenesaw Public Schools in 1939. Iola taught school for 6 years.
She married Robert H. Saddler on October 24, 1942 in Kenesaw, Robert passed away September 9, 1973. Together they owned the Gamble Store from 1954 to 1968 in Kenesaw. She then started working part time for the Jackson-Wilson Funeral Home in 1960, retiring in 1986 from the Hastings Regional Center infood service.
Iola was a member of the Kenesaw United Methodist Church, Methodist Women and senior citizen groups.
She is survived by 5 children, Melvin (Peggy) Saddler, Kenesaw, Barbara (Tomy) Mattson of Hildreth, Rhonda Ehly of Hastings, Lloyd Saddler of Lincoln, and Keith (Colleen) Saddler, of Hawaii, 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Cletus Mills of Portland, OR and Duane (Gloria) Mills of Hastings and 3 sisters, Carol (Alfred) Akins of Independence, MO, Evelyn (Carl) Yurk of Hastings and Loine (Larry) Bohlen of Hastings, one brother-in-law, Kenneth Roy of Omaha and one sister-in-law, Jean Mills of North Platte.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, 2 sisters Phyllis Janes and Eunice Roy, one brother, Dale Mills and one granddaughter, Andrea Augustin.
