Prosser resident, Irene Fronning, 59, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the Lakeside Hospital in Omaha, NE. Services will be Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 2 PM at the Grace United Methodist Church, in Hastings, NE with the Rev. Dr. Lee Wigert officiating. Book signing will be Tuesday, December 27, 2011 from 9 AM to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Irene was born May 26, 1952 to William and Margretta (Rehder) Belz in Hastings, NE. She was baptized and confirmed at the Zion Lutheran Church in Hastings, NE. She graduated from the Hastings High School in 1970. She married Gary Fronning on June 6, 1973; he passed away May 11, 2010. She was employed by the Hastings Regional Center in Hastings, NE for 37 years, retiring on December 1, 2011. She was a member of the Juniata United Methodist Church in Juniata, NE. She was an admiral of the Nebraska Navy two different times. She is survived by her mother Margretta Belz, two daughters, Melissa Cully and husband Don and Elizabeth Chingren and husband Zach all of Hastings, NE, four grandchildren, Mikayla Wilmot, Levi Cully, Tyler Cully and Abbie Cully, one brother Kenneth Belz and wife Tami of Kenesaw, NE, two sisters, Julie Wright and husband Jesse of Hastings, NE, Brenda Grothen and husband Grant of Overland Park, KS, the other sister, Antoinette Petersen of Hastings, NE, two nieces and numerous nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Bill, husband Gary, and infant.
