Irene Lottie Vom Weg

Hastings resident, Irene Lottie Vom Weg, 88, passed away Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Society, Hastings-Village. Services will be Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 2:00PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, in Hastings, NE, with the Rev. Greg Volzke officiating. Graveside service will be at a later date at the Parkview Cemetery, in Hastings, NE. There will be no visitation, there will be a book signing on Monday, July 5, 2010 from 8:00AM to 4:00PM and up till the service time at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Irene was born March 15, 1922 to Teifol & Mary(Adamcezski)Neneman in Omaha, NE. She graduated from Omaha South High School in 1940. She married William Bruce Vom Weg on Aug. 6, 1942, they had two sons and one daughter. They lived in Hastings, NE., William passed away on June 16, 2006. In May of 2008 Irene moved to Good Smaritan Village in Hastings, NE. They owned Vom Weg Plumbing in Omaha and prior to that they owned Bruces Bar in Hastings and Toms Place in Prosser. Irene also worked at The Specialty Shop in Hastings and Pioneer Seed in Doniphan. She is survived by 2 sons, William(Bill)Vom Weg and wife Quetha of Covington, LA., Wayne Vom Weg and wife Marcia of Hastings, NE., 1 daughter, Janine(Sam)Ruhter of Prosser, NE., 1 brother, Edward Neneman from North Bend, NE., 5 grandchildren, Heather & Corey Vom Weg, Brandie Kral & husband, Jason, Brook Ruhter, and Samantha Schirmer & husband, Tim, 3 great grandchildren, Kylah Moore, Lottie Schirmer and baby Kral. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers and 1 sister. Memorials will be established at a later date.
