Hastings resident, Irene M. Miller, 94, passed away Monday, August 16, 2010 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital; Hastings, NE. Rosary will be Thursday, August 19, 2010 at 7:30 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings, NE with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, August 20, 2010 at 10:30 AM at the St. Michaels Catholic Church, Hastings, NE with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings; NE. Visitation will be Thursday, August 19, 2010 from 9 AM to 7:30 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE and one hour prior to service time at the church. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Irene was born December 26, 1915 to Charles and Mary A. (Hoffman) Beiriger on a farm near Assumption, NE. She graduated from the Holstein High School in Holstein, NE. She married John E. Miller on June 27, 1940 they just celebrated their 70th anniversary. She worked at Geyermans, the Hastings Canvas Co and Mackie Grocery all in Hastings, NE. She had lived over 40 years in Hastings coming from Assumption, NE. She was a member of the St. Michaels Catholic Church, the Altar Society, the Crosier Apostolate, and the AARP all in Hastings, NE. She is survived by her husband John of Hastings, NE, and one brother, Irvin J. Beiriger of Omaha, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters and four brothers. Memorials may be given to the Hastings Catholic Schools.
