James Wilson, 78, of Grand Island died Tuesday March 19, 2019 at Good Samaritan Society – Grand Island.
Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2019, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with the Reverend Martin Egging officiating. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Apfel Funeral Home concluding with a 6 p.m. Vigil Service. Memorials are suggested to the family.
James was born October 4, 1940 at Elba, NE. the son of Sylvester “Bud” and Lillian (Kaminski) Wilson. He grew up in Elba and surrounding communities, receiving his education at Dannebrog. In 1963, James entered the United States Army and served until his honorable discharge in 1965. He was united in marriage to Agnes Nagorski on January 25, 1969 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Grand Island, where the couple resided. Over the years, James worked for an ATM Security firm, Sunrise Trucking and Grand Island Express Trucking in Grand Island.
He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the Eagles. Time spent with his family was one of his many enjoyments in life, along with spoiling his grandkids, talking to family on the phone and tending to the family garden.
Those left to cherish his memory include his three sons and daughter-in-law: Jim Wilson of Grand Island, Joe Wilson of Golden, CO., and Roger & Sherrie Wilson of Minden; Three grandchildren: Amber (Dakota), Amanda (Michael), Dawson and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Agnes and one brother, Kenny Wilson.
