Jeanette Elizabeth Svoboda

Hastings resident Jeanette Elizabeth Svoboda, 83, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at the Mary Lanning Health Care, Hastings, NE. Rosary will be Friday, December 10, 2010 at 7 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings, NE with Father Joseph Walsh officiating. Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 10 AM at the St. Cecilias Catholic Church, Hastings, NE, with Father Joseph Walsh officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Hastings, NE. Visitation will be Thursday, December 9, 2010 from 5 PM to 9 PM and Friday, December 10, 2010 from 9 AM to 7 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Memorials may be given to the St. Cecilias Catholic Church, Hastings, NE. Jeanette was born August 1, 1927 to Matt and Catherine (Kaiser) Trausch in Roseland, NE. She had her first communion at the Assumption Catholic Church in Assumption, NE. On October 4, 1949 she married Enos Jim Svoboda at the St. Marys Cathedral in Grand Island, NE, Jim passed away July 2, 1997. They moved from Grand Island, NE to a farm north of Hastings, NE in 1954, Jeanette still resided there until her passing. Jeanette was a homemaker and employed for many years at Mode-O-Day, in Hastings, NE. Jeanette enjoyed taking care of her flower garden, crocheting, playing cards with her family, taking care of her cats and dogs, and Sunday morning coffee and conversations. She was an avid Nebraska Football fan. She was a member of the St. Cecilias Catholic Church, in Hastings, NE. She is survived by four sons, Rick and wife Cindy, Dave and wife Deb, and Don and wife Deneeta all of Hastings, NE, and Alan and wife Renee of Holdrege, NE, one daughter, Kathy Owens of Hastings, NE, 13 grandchildren, Nick, Rob, Steve, Wes, Dan, Mike, and Jeff Svoboda, Kim and Samantha Svoboda, and Ronda Johnson, Jessica Leonard and Stephanie Owens, and Lori Perry, and 16 great grandchildren, one brother Vern Trausch and wife Vanetta of Arizona, and one sister, Susan Thaut and husband Harry of Hastings, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Ken Svoboda, and 7 brothers , Ed , Bert, Albert, Charles, Elmer, Alfred, and Ervin Bud Trausch and 2 sisters Laurine Trausch, and Martha Preissler.
