Jennifer Koehler, 44, of Lincoln, died Thursday, September 13, 2018, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha surrounded by all of her family.
Service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church in Wood River with Pastor Trudy Hanke officiating. Private family interment will be at a later time. Visitation will be 4-7 pm Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church of Wood River. Apfel Funeral Home is caring for the family.
Jennifer was born on May 8, 1974 in Grand Island, to Douglas and Dianne (Luth)Thompson. Jennifer attended District 16 grade school and Wood River Rural High School where she graduated in 1992. She attended Lincoln School of Commerce following, where she received a Junior College of Business Degree in court reporting/stenography. She worked as a court reporter in the Lincoln/Omaha area.
She married Dan Koehler of Lincoln on August 10, 2013. They made their home in Lincoln. Jennifer enjoyed traveling with her husband, and spending time with her family. She adored her niece Adilyn, and loved to spoil her with toys and love. Jennifer was always the “bright spot” at any family function. Her contagious laugh and upbeat humor will be remembered in our hearts forever.
Survivors include her husband: Dan of Lincoln; mother: Dianne Thompson of Wood River; brother: Matt (Megan) and niece Adilyn Thompson of Waterloo, NE; grandmother: Florence Windfield of Grand Island; and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her father: Doug.
