Jerry R. Lehman

Jerry R. Lehman, 73, of Wood River, NE passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2020, at Kearney Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2020, at North Loup Community Building with a potluck meal to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family. Apfel Funeral Home is in charge of cremation services.



Jerry was born October 3, 1946 in Stanton County Nebraska, the son of Leonard and Elvira (Glaser) Lehman. He attended school in Stanton County.



On May 19, 1977, Jerry was united in partnership to Mary Ann Scherbarth in Ord, NE. To this union a daughter Faith Ann was born on Nov. 7, 1978. Jerry worked for the Ford Garage in Ord, Cornhusker Toyota in Grand Island, Bosselman Truck Plaza in Wood River and Arby's in Ord. Jerry will be remembered for being able to make small talk with anyone, his sense of humor and most of all dearly loving his grandchildren.



He is survived by daughter, Faith (Christopher) Young of Wood River, NE; stepsons: Brian (Kimberly) Scherbarth of Kearney, NE, Byron (Sandy) Scherbarth of Harvard, NE, Brenden (Sheila) Scherbarth of Hastings, NE, Bruce (Angie) Scherbarth of Milwaukee, WI; 18 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brothers: Ron (Donna) Lehman of Papillion, NE, Terry (Alberta) Lehman of Stanton, NE, Rick (Jaime) Lehman of Colton, SD, brothers-in-law: Paul Holtman of Missouri, Gary Ferris of Inman, NE; sisters-in-law: Bonnie Coenen of Lake Andes, SD, Linda Coenen of Spencer, NE; and many nephews and nieces.



Jerry was proceeded in death by his parents; partner Mary Ann on November 7, 2001; brother, Larry; sister, Patty; brothers-in-law: Tony Coenen, Jerry Coenen, Robert Coenen, Al Warner; and sisters-in-law: Barb Lehman, Sandy Warner, Karen Ferris.
