John A. Morrow, 77, of Hastings, NE died on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Grand Island VA Medical Center. A Celebration of Life will be held from 4 PM to 6 PM on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the DAV Club in Hastings. His wishes were to be cremated. There will be no viewing or visitation. Apfel Funeral Home is in care of the family.

John Allen Morrow was born on February 9, 1946, in Hastings, to Everett and Martha (Towler) Morrow. He grew up in Hastings and received his education at Hastings Public Schools. He was united in marriage to JoAnn Smith on June 14, 1966. They later divorced.

He entered the United States Navy on July 30, 1963, serving on the USS Paul Revere. John was employed at Shafer Implement and Johnson Concrete for many years as a welder, mechanic, and fabricator.

He had a passion for stock car racing, motorcycles, gardening, and was a Kansas City Chiefs fan. He loved all animals, especially his beloved cat named “Kitty Cat.”

His is survived by his children, Jay (Latisha) Morrow of Pauline, NE, Jodi (Eric) Kelly of Hastings, Jon (Michelle) Morrow of Hastings; brother David Ray (Jan) Morrow; grandchildren, Courion Morrow, Jason Guest, Jaycie Morrow, Jordan Cronk, Jacob, Jayme, and Jesse Morrow; several great-grandchildren; bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, infant brother David Lee Morrow, brothers James S. Morrow, and Robert E. Morrow.
