John R. Voit

Hastings resident, John R. Voit, 64, died Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, NE. His body was donated to the Nebraska Anatomical Board. Memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 11 AM at the First United Methodist Church, Hastings, NE with Pastor Alan Davis officiating. Burial of his ashes will be at a later date in California. Local arrangements were done by the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. John was born March 11, 1945 to Glenn and Josephine Kathrin (Tacolck) Voit in Pennsylvania. He graduated from Reseda California High School, Reseda, California in 1963. He was a meat cutter in California and Texas for 22 years. He moved to Hastings, NE in 1996. He enjoyed playing 4 point pitch with best friends Bob Soukup, Becky OFlannigan and Jacki Lemonds. He is survived by 4 sons, Raymond John Voit of Grand Island, NE, Robert Aaron Voit of Nevada , Randy Aaron and Richard Voit both of Washington. Significant other Jacki Lemonds of Hastings, NE, many grandchildren 2 of which are in NE, Rachel Darlene and Samual Aaron Voit (children of Raymond Voit). 2 brothers Larry Voit and wife Judy of Whittier, California, and Glenn Voit of Sacramento, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister Glenda Voit. Memorials may be given to the family.
