Joleen Ann Bruhn, 76, of Wood River died Thursday, May 25, 2017 at her home in Wood River.
Services will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Wood River with Father Jorge Canella officiating. Burial will be at St. Marys Cemetery in Wood River. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm on Monday evening at the church in Wood River. Memorials are suggested to the family to designate. Apfel Funeral Home is serving the family.
Joleen was born on August 26, 1940 at Osmond, NE, the daughter of Harold and Mary (Gudenkauf) OBrien. She grew up and was educated in Wood River, graduating from Wood River High School in 1957.
She was united in marriage to Lee Butch Bruhn on July 23, 1960 in Wood River. The couple made their home in Wood River. Joleen worked several different jobs including the Ordinance Plant, Good Samaritan Society in Wood River, and Saint Francis Medical Center as a Radiology Assistant.
She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church. Joleen enjoyed collecting cookbooks, shopping, garage sales, taking car rides, Thursday morning coffee at the Sr. Center, but most of all her grandchildren and great granddaughter.
Joleen is survived by a son, Delwyn Bruhn of Johnson Lake, a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Glenn Husak of Wood River, three grandchildren, Shelby of Kearney, Trey and Desi of Wood River and Keaton of Wood River, and one great granddaughter Emmalee, and a brother, Jim and Reva OBrien of Grand Island.
Preceded in death by her parents and her husband Lee in 2015.
