Joseph A. A. Aldana, Jr. 68, of Grand Island, NE died August 19, 2016 while in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at Apfel Funeral Home with Father Jim Golka officiating. Inurnment will be in Grand Island Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to be directed to Troy Buschow. Apfel Funeral Home is caring for the family.
Joe was born 1/9/48 at Grand Island, NE to Joseph C. Aldana and Carmen B. Gutierrez Aldana. He grew up in Grand Island NE and received his education at Grand Island Senior High School in 1966. In August 1967 his only son, Troy Buschow was born.
He entered into the Army on 1/24/68 and served during the Vietnam War and was decorated with a Bronze and Silver star and was honorably discharged 1/5/70. The tour proved to be a life changing event that laid the ground work for a man that overcame great obstacles due to harrowing experiences he had in Vietman. He was told by a third party, I heard there was no front line in the jungle and his response was, those sons of bitches werent were I was Anyone that has known Joe, knew that he was a straight shooter.
He was a member of St. Marys Cathedral, active with the Patriot Guard Riders, and KIA Honor Flag Organization.
Joe was a very generous and caring man and gave to several foundations and was known for helping those less fortunate by giving them a roof over their head and gave them hope to start a new life.
He is survived by his Son, Troy A. Buschow and his daughter- in- law Valerie Buschow; two grandchildren; Vanessa S. Buschow and Michael A. Buschow; and two great-grandchildren, Austin Buschow and Havannah Buschow.
His last employment was as a driver at Sagging Trucks until he was unable to work. He loved to gamble and loved his family very much. He will be missed dearly by all that loved him.
