At Our Jackson-Wilson Funeral Home location, Kenesaw, NE. Kenesaw resident, Joseph Joe Dittrick, 80 passed away Sunday, October 17, 2010 at the Bethany Home in Minden, NE. Funeral service will be Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 10:30 AM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kenesaw, NE with the Pastor Paul Duffy officiating. Burial will be in the Kenesaw Cemetery, Kenesaw, NE. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 21, 2010 from 9 AM to 9 PM at the Jackson Wilson Funeral Home in Kenesaw, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Joe was born June 8, 1930 to Joseph and Lorraine (Goulding) Dittrick in Loretto, NE. He graduated from the Minden High School in Minden, NE in 1948.He served in the United States Army from February 15, 1952 to October 26, 1953. He married Betty Helms on September 12, 1954; she has been waiting in heaven since August 28, 1992. On June 19, 1993, he married Marilyn Johnson. He farmed in the Kenesaw area and also did plumbing work. Joe enjoyed watching and going to baseball games, working on tractors and small engines in his shop. Those left to cherish his memory include, two daughters, Paula Dittrick and husband Phillip Montgomery of Houston, TX, and Nancy McKillip of Kearney, NE along with her children Jessica of Kearney, NE and Travis of Milford, NE. He is also survived by his great grandson Clayton whom shared numerous candy bars with him, saved spare change for and found countless hours of enjoyment with. Others include, three sisters, Shirley Holsten and Ruth Albers both of Hastings, NE and Mary Galliart of Grand Island, NE, brother-in-law and lifelong best friend, Leroy Johnson of Minden, NE, former wife Marilyn Dittrick, several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death and welcomed into heaven by his parents, wife Betty, sister, Marie Johnson, and mother-in-law Pearl Helms. Memorials may be given to donor(tm)s choice.
