Juan Ramos-American Horse, 22, of Grand Island, NE died on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Grand Island, NE. A memorial gathering will be on Sunday, October 20, 2024, from 1 to 4 P.M. at the Westside Bowling Lanes in Grand Island, NE. Wake and Funeral Services will be held in Gordon, NE with Sioux Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
He was born on January 5, 2002, in Grand Island, NE to Josephine American Horse and Martin Ramos. He grew up in Grand Island and received his education at Pine Ridge Job Corp, graduating with the class of 2018. He moved back to G.I. and met the mother of his child, Jasmin Romero, and they both lived happily together in G.I. Juan liked playing sports, he played football, basketball, and wrestled. His favorite sports team was the Las Vegas Raiders.
Juan participated in the 500-mile run, as well as participated in his Lakota culture as a sun dancer. He liked playing games, fishing, outdoor activities, music, trucks, playing Lacrosse and skateboarding. Juan enjoyed good food and spending time with their family and friends. He had a lot of friends, always made sure to make everyone feel welcome, made lots of jokes, and always found a way to make good memories.
Juan is survived by his son, Sailas Ramos-Romero; parents, Josephine American Horse of Grand Island, NE and Martin Ramos of Guatemala; sisters: Jessica American Horse (Irving), Kimberly American Horse (Miguel), Andrea Ramos-American Horse, and Christina Ramos; brother, Enrique Ramos-American Horse (Aracely); grandad, Gene American Horse; nieces: Haven Caldwell, Anaisse Caldera, and Catalina Villanueva; nephews: Chevy Caldwell and Ritchie Caldera; hunka parents, Rick and Randi Grey Grass; and numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles.
He is preceded in death by his great grandpa, Noah No-Leaf; grandma, Barbara American Horse; grandpa; Jerry No-Leaf; aunt, Carla American Horse; and many more relatives.
He will be missed by many and loved by all, dancing in the sky.
